This picture shows an early view of the Hazel Green Academy campus on Harrison Heights from around 1908. The buildings from left to right were:
1. A faculty cottage, which served for many years as the Director's residence
2. The Helen E. Moses Memorial boys dormitory, dedicated Sept. 12, 1908.
3. In the background with porches is the Sarah K. Yancey Home (for female students and staff). This building burned about 1915, and was replaced by another which burned in 1929.
4. In the center foreground is the Ford Industrial Arts Building. It was also dedicated Sept. 12, 1908.
5. Pearre Hall, which served as the classroom building until it was converted into the girls dormitory around 1930. At that time, a new classroom building was completed on the site of the two Sarah K. Yancey homes. Note the wooden water tower to the left of Pearre Hall. The initials C.W.B.M. at the bottom of the picture refer to the Christian Women's Board of Missions, which ran the school for many years. (Photo HGA Archives)
